DETROIT - Matthew Boyd is headed back to Detroit.
Tigers manager Brad Ausmus announced after Detroit's 6-5 win Sunday over Toronto that Boyd will be called up from triple-A Toledo to start Tuesday in Kansas City.
Daniel Norris, who has been on the 10-day disabled list since July 6 with a groin strain, will begin a rehab assignment Tuesday in Toledo.
Norris threw a bullpen session on Friday that Ausmus called "mediocre." The lefty, who has a 9.88 ERA in his last three starts, threw another bullpen session Sunday which Ausmus said was "better.
