Lakeland, Fla. — Tigers closer Francisco Rodriguez took to social media Wednesday morning to dispute Venezuelan media reports that he was unable to leave Venezuela due to visa problems.
In Spanish, he posted on Instagram that the reports were false, they he has no visa problems and was on his way to Lakeland.
“I don’t worry about Frankie at all,” manager Brad Ausmus said Wednesday morning. “This guy is as professional as anyone in the game of baseball. Last year, he arrived a little late but when he gets here, his work ethic is unsurpassed.
