Detroit Tigers sign Edwin Jackson to minor league deal

Edwin Jackson, baseball’s all-time leader in teams played for, could be returning to Detroit soon.

The Detroit Tigers signed the veteran right-hander to a minor-league deal Sunday, and assigned him to Triple-A Toledo, according to the Mud Hens’ official website. Jackson, 35, is 105-128 with a 4.70 ERA and 1.45 WHIP in parts of 17 years in the major leagues.

After a solid season in 2018 with the Oakland Athletics, posting a 3.33 ERA in 17 starts, Jackson struggled this season with the Toronto Blue Jays, allowing 35 earned runs on 49 hits in 28u2153 innings.
