Detroit Tigers' C.J. Cron, Jonathan Schoop hope to 'be better in 2020 than I was in 2019'

They played on the right side of the infield together last season in Minnesota, and now, after choosing a precipitous fall in the AL Central standings in free agency, C.J. Cron and Jonathan Schoop are determined to help the Detroit Tigers compete with their former teammates.

Cron and Schoop, a pair of veterans who both signed one-year contracts with the Tigers for $6.1 million over the weekend, talked about their reasons for signing in a pair of conference calls with reporters on Monday afternoon.

“Detroit, from the get-go, was on me pretty hard,” Cron, a first baseman, said.
