Red Wings' Henrik Zetterberg: Faceoff crackdown brutal, mocking game

DETROIT - The NHL vowed to enforce faceoff violation rules and is keeping its promise so far in the preseason.

Officials have called numerous penalties for delay of game on players not positioned properly, jumping early or playing the puck by hand. The Detroit Red Wings have been whistled six times in two games for faceoff violations.

Henrik Zetterberg won't make his preseason debut until Saturday, but he doesn't like what he's seeing.

"Brutal," Zetterberg said Thursday. "I haven't played, so I can't really put my own experience on it, but what I've heard and what I've seen makes no sense to me why they do it.
