ALLEN PARK -- Two Georgia boys who came into a passing league the same way around the same time will meet up on Sunday.
Matthew Stafford and Matt Ryan could engage in a shootout on the fast track at Ford Field, but the two quarterbacks are intertwined by far more than simply their commands of their offenses.
Stafford was the No. 1 pick of the Detroit Lions in 2009. That started a career of shootouts with some playoff appearances but no postseason victories -- yet. But the Lions have started building around him with a high-dollar offensive line, a younger and more athletic defense and a receiving corps finally built around more than one player, all in hopes of taking that next step with their franchise quarterback.
