Offensive tackle money has gone from outrageous to insane in his three NFL seasons, but Taylor Decker is in no rush to cash in on a life-changing contract.
Oh, Decker already makes more money than most Americans will see in their lifetime. He has a $1.945 million base salary this year, and the Lions picked up his fifth-year option for 2020 at the non-guaranteed price of $10.35 million earlier this spring.
But to get a contract on the level of the four-year, $66 million whopper Trent Brown signed as a free agent this offseason, or the four-year, $62 million one Nate Solder got last spring, Decker is content to wait and let the Brinks truck come to him.
