Detroit Lions rookie DL Jashon Cornell suffers leg injury, carted off

On Day 2 of Detroit Lions training camp padded practices, the injury bug finally hit the team.

About halfway through Tuesday’s session, Lions seventh-round rookie defensive lineman Jashon Cornell was working on a one-on-one pass rushing drill. But before he could finish his rep, he collapsed to the ground, clutching his left leg.

It wasn’t clear exactly how the leg was injured, but Cornell was down on the ground for several minutes before the team was forced to bring out the cart and drive him off the Allen Park practice field.

The Lions have yet to make a comment on Cornell’s status, although head coach Matt Patricia is expected to have his normal post-practice press conference later on Tuesday.
