Detroit Lions center Travis Swanson is in concussion protocol

Head coach Jim Caldwell announced during Tuesday’s press conference that starting center Travis Swanson is in concussion protocol after Sunday’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Swanson was able to finish the game, but according to Caldwell the symptoms didn’t present themselves until after the game had concluded. The Lions had a similar situation earlier in the season when T.J. Lang started displaying symptoms prior to a practice. Lang ended up missing one game due to the injury.

Swanson is not expected to practice on Tuesday and will have less time to prepare for the Chicago Bears given the shortened week.
