After adding Anthony Davis, the Lakers are NBA title favorites. They shouldn’t be.

The trade that has been hinted at for months finally hit the news cycle when the Los Angeles Lakers agreed to acquire three-time all-NBA forward Anthony Davis from the New Orleans Pelicans for Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart and three first-round draft picks, including the fourth selection in the 2019 draft, scheduled for Thursday night at Barclays Center in New York.

The move gives the Lakers another superstar to pair with LeBron James and puts them at the forefront of the Western Conference, which is wide open after the Golden State Warriors were weakened by injuries to Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson in this year’s NBA Finals.
