On Monday night, Rick Carlisle and the Dallas Mavericks learned the hard way that their size doesn’t allow them to match up very well against the new brand of basketball. In an overtime loss to the Boston Celtics, Kyrie Irving dropped 47 points as he shot 72.7% from the field. Also, forwards Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown combined for 37 points and 18 rebounds.
It was a tough night for the perimeter defenders and rim protectors on this Mavericks team. However, no one had a tougher night than estranged center Nerlens Noel, who racked up 0.4 seconds of playing time on Monday night.
