Mavericks aren't using brutal schedule as excuse for lousy record

The running joke in the NBA is that everybody makes the playoffs, but we all know that's not true.

In an interesting twist, however, just about all of the Mavericks' opponents so far this season have been playoff teams in one form or another.

By the time they finish this week against San Antonio twice and Golden State, the Mavericks will have played 30 games, and 28 of the opponents either were in the playoffs last season or would be in the playoffs this season if they started today.

Only Sacramento and Brooklyn qualify as teams that weren't in the postseason last year and are on the outside looking in again this season.
