At the start of the season, Kei Kamara was coming off a 22-goal season and the ink hadn't even dried on a new designated player contract. Columbus Crew SC fans knew what the future looked like — Kamara banging in tons of goals as the Black & Gold went back to MLS Cup and maybe got it right this time. At the very least, Cup contention was a reality for a couple of years.
It's easy to understand why Crew SC fans have been jolted by the sudden trade of Kamara; most people have severe reactions when their reality is shaken.
