Wil Trapp won’t accompany Crew SC to Los Angeles for a game Saturday at the Galaxy but said his concussion symptoms are less intense than the ones that cost him nearly three months last season.
Speaking to reporters for the first time since last weekend’s head injury in the opening minutes of a 2-0 win over the San Jose Earthquakes, Trapp sounded in good spirits while offering no timetable for his return.
The midfielder said he has suffered three documented concussions since 2012 and plans to be smart about his recovery. Because he’s dealing with headaches and swelling in the area where he violently knocked heads with San Jose’s Shaun Francis, Trapp has not resumed any light exercises.
