Crew SC has added some much-needed depth at the forward position with the signing of 34-year-old Conor Casey.
A nine-year Major League Soccer veteran, Casey has scored 71 goals while playing for Toronto, Colorado and most recently Philadelphia. He scored 50 of his goals during his six seasons with the Rapids, where he won MLS Cup in 2010 and scored the game-winning goal to earn most-valuable player honors for the game. He spent six seasons in Germany, where he began his professional career with Borussia Dortmund, and has made 19 appearances for the United States national team.
After scoring 10 goals in 2013 in his first season with the Union, the bruising Casey has seen his production diminish in each of the last two seasons.
