Less than three weeks ago, Kei Kamara’s pursuit of a hat trick paved the way for his controversial exit from Columbus Crew SC.
On Saturday night, a different Kamara got a hat trick, and there was nothing but joy and relief associated with it.
Ola Kamara – no relation to Kei – scored three goals to lead the Crew to a 4-3 victory over Real Salt Lake at Mapfre Stadium. In doing so, he alleviated some of the concern about the Crew’s ability to generate offense in the post-Kei Kamara era.
“It was a weight off my shoulders,” Ola Kamara said.
