Crew SC is awaiting news of the severity of Waylon Francis’ dislocated right shoulder.
Coach Gregg Berhalter said the left back underwent an MRI on Monday morning. Francis suffered the injury during the Crew’s 3-3 draw against New York City FC at Mapfre Stadium on Saturday night.
If healthy, Corey Ashe likely would replace Francis on Saturday in New England. But Ashe has not dressed the past two games because of a knee injury.
Ashe, 30, hopes to practice today. He attributed the injury to just a flare-up of an old problem.
“(It has been) something that has been over time,” Ashe said.
