PORTLAND, Ore. — Crew SC debuted its “For Columbus” uniform on Sunday, wasting no time in unveiling its one-year, limited edition kit in front of an ESPN audience and a sold-out crowd that included Major League Soccer commissioner Don Garber.
So point-blank, Mr. Commissioner, what do you think of those blue shorts?
“Sometimes those things are overblown,” Garber told The Dispatch. “The fact is that people are talking about the Columbus Crew now more than ever before, and if you have to have funky shorts to achieve that, so be it.”
Garber spent the first half of the season opener watching and chatting with Crew owner Anthony Precourt, and he spent much of halftime with The Dispatch.
