Crew SC announced this morning that it signed forward Kei Kamara to a new contract, making the team MVP a designated player through the end of the 2018 season.
Further terms of the deal were not disclosed, but none of Kamara’s salary is eligible to paid with targeted allocation money provided by the league, indicating he will be paid at least $1 million per season.
Kamara was previously under contract through 2017 but had been in search of a new deal following a career year in which he scored 22 goals, tied for the most in MLS, and helped lead the Crew to an Eastern Conference championship.
