Rookie Jordan Morris ended a second-half Seattle surge when he scored in the 88th minute, bagging the only goal in a 1-0 Sounders win over Crew SC in front of 39,473 this afternoon in CenturyLink Field.
The late winner was the third in three games for the highly-touted American forward, who was in prime position to leg-whip a loose ball past Crew defender Michael Parkhurst and spoil an outstanding performance by Crew keeper Steve Clark.
Clark made seven saves, including one on a seven-yard shot by Oalex Anderson when he pushed the ball to his left. But Morris was lurking behind Parkhurst, and the former Stanford star pounced.
