With three shutout wins in its first four games, one might expect FC Dallas to take up a defensive posture against visiting Crew SC tonight in Toyota Stadium.
It is what the Crew’s first three opponents have done, and it has been effective, if ugly. The Crew has two goals, two losses and no wins in its first three games.
“My guess is that they will play similar to how our opponents have been playing,” Crew coach Gregg Berhalter said on Monday.
But by Thursday, Berhalter had changed his tune.
“We expect them to come out and play a little more than the other teams have so far, so it should open up some space for us,” Berhalter said.
