Soccer | Crew 0, Impact 0: No offensive punch

Crew SC figured to have offensive difficulties last night against Montreal, so their scoreless tie at Mapfre Stadium wasn’t much of a surprise.

Columbus knew it would be without playmaking midfielder Federico Higuain, who had surgery this week to repair a sports hernia and is expected to miss five to seven weeks. Then striker Ola Kamara was unable to start because of a hamstring injury and didn’t enter until only 20 minutes remained.

Kamara had scored four goals since taking over for Kei Kamara, who was traded shortly after his on-field dispute with Higuain in Columbus’ 4-4 tie at Mapfre against Montreal on May 7.
