Bob Hunter commentary | Crew: Squabble reflects badly on coach Gregg Berhalter

Short takes for short attention spans:

The rift between Crew SC teammates Kei Kamara and Federico Higuain over who would take a penalty kick during the team’s 4-4 tie with Montreal is mind-blowing. Kamara sharply criticized Higuain after the game — in which Columbus blew a 4-1 lead — for taking a penalty kick that he said should have belonged to him, given that it could have resulted in Kamara’s first hat trick in his Major League Soccer career.

“That’s selfish,” Kamara said.

Kamara’s charges — that Higuain “tricked” him into walking away by indicating that he wanted Ethan Finlay to take the kick, then wouldn’t give up the ball after Finlay wanted no part of that — are crazy.
