Rockies fall to Dodgers for 10th consecutive time

LOS ANGELES — Just call them the not-ready-for-prime-time Rockies.

For the second game in a row, they pushed the high-flying Dodgers to the limit, but for the second game in a row, they couldn’t pull off the victory. After losing 4-2 in walk-off fashion Friday night, they suffered a 5-4,11-inning walk-off Saturday evening.

Alex Verdugo hit a solo home run to right field off Rockies rookie reliever Jesus Tinoco, sending what was left of the Dodger Stadium crowd of 53,096 into a frenzy. It was Verdugo’s second homer of the game.

Los Angeles (53-25), owner of the best record in the majors and nearly invincible at Dodger Stadium (33-9), won its 10th consecutive game against the Rockies.
