LOS ANGELES — The Dodgers reaffirmed their dominance over the Rockies Friday night, but it took a walk-off home run by Matt Beaty to do it.
He ripped a two-out, two-run home run off reliever Jairo Diaz to lift Los Angeles to a stirring 4-2 victory in front of a noisy, sellout crowd of 54,044 at Chavez Ravine.
There were no walks in the game until Diaz issued a free pass to Max Muncy right before Beaty launched his game-winner.
Behind a brilliant performance by right-hander Walker Buehler and the 25th home run of the season by early MVP favorite Cody Bellinger, Los Angeles won its ninth consecutive game over the Rockies.
