“Cautious optimism” peeks through at Rockies Fest, but fans know pitching is still the big question mark

After an offseason rife with fan discontent amid trade rumors surrounding the Rockies’ franchise player, a ray of optimism cast across Coors Field during the team’s annual fan fest on Saturday.

Yes, fans realize the rift between third baseman Nolan Arenado and general manager Jeff Bridich is still the elephant in the stadium. And yes, a quiet offseason (Colorado’s the only team to spend $0 on major league contracts in free agency) hasn’t exactly quelled concerns coming off a 91-loss season.
