A little less than a month after being fired by the Dallas Stars for “unprofessional conduct,” coach Jim Montgomery told the Dallas Morning News his dismissal was justified and that he has checked himself into a rehabilitation facility for alcohol abuse.
The former DU Pioneers coach, who guided the program to a national title in 2017 and two Frozen Four trips, released a statement to the Morning News on Friday about his firing and what has happened in the succeeding weeks.
