The Indians injuries continue to mount, as a day after placing pitchers Andrew Miller and Danny Salazar on the DL, today the team put second basemen Jason Kipnis on the 10-day DL with a right hamstring strain.
The team recalled infielder Erik Gonzalez to take Kipnis’ place on the roster.
González begins his third stint with Cleveland this season, having spent over two months with the club from May 14-August 5 and again on August 9.
With Cleveland this year he is batting .263 (21-80) with 11 runs, 5 2B, 2 HR & 6 RBI in 39 games.
