The Latest Indians Trade Deadline Rumors On Carlos Beltran, David Robertson And Joe Smith

The MLB trade deadline is two days away and the Cleveland Indians trade rumors are starting to heat up on the hot stove. Cleveland is 58-42 and in first place in the AL Central. The Indians have overachieved this year and have a few different needs they'd like to fill. With that in mind, here all the latest Indians trade rumors.

Indians After Beltran?
The Indians have been linked to a few different bats (Jay Bruce, Jonathan Lucroy) and it appears they've discussed a Carlos Beltran trade with the Yankees.

The Indians can't (or won't) take on a ton of money, and Beltran's $15 million salary is a lot. Even though the majority of it has been paid by New York already, it does seem like an issue. Beltran's .305 batting average and 21 home runs would be third best among the Indians' starters.

Indians After David Robertson?
The White Sox are rumored to be open to selling off some of their top players and closer David Robertson is among them. The Indians are one team with interest.

Robertson's 4.25 ERA is well-above his career 3.01 ERA, but that's because of a few rough outings. Robertson might be the best bullpen arm (realistically) on the market now that Mark Melancon has been dealt to the Pirates. He's set to make $12 million next year and $13 million the following year, which might be a bit too pricey for Cleveland.

Joe Smith On The Move?
The Angels' Joe Smith isn't the biggest name on the bullpen market, but he's drawing plenty of interest.

The 32-year-old righty has seen his ERA rise the last two years, but he's still a solid set-up man. He'll also be cheaper than some of the other options on the market, which makes him a good fit for the Indians.
