Indians Trade Rumors: Cleveland Discussing Carrasco Deal With Cubs

The Cleveland Indians have had “ongoing dialogue” with the Cubs about starting pitcher Carlos Carrasco, according to Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports.

Since rejoining the Indians rotation last year, Carrasco has posted a 3.07 ERA, 10.0 K/9, 1.7 BB/9, and 0.64 HR/9 in 196 1/3 innings.

Cleveland signed him to a four-year extension in April, guaranteeing him $21 million through 2018, though the contract could run through 2020 if both club options are exercised.

The Blue Jays were  “close to a deal that fell apart near the finish line” for Carrasco, according to Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca, though that deal fell apart when they acquired David Price.
