Cleveland Indians News: Anthony Swarzak Signed To Minor League Deal

The Cleveland Indians have signed former Minnesota Twins right-hander Anthony Swarzak to a minor league contract.

The 29-year-old spent his third straigh season with Minnesota in 2014, going 3-2 with a 4.60 ERA in four starts and 46 relief appearances. He became a free agent when the season ended after he refused an outright assignment to Triple-A Rochester of the International League.

Swarzak was second-round selection in the 2004 amateur draft and had spent his entire career with the Twins. His 237.1 relief innings are the second-most in the majors since 2012.

Swarzak's best season was 2013, when he posted a 2.91 ERA in 48 games.
