Cavaliers waive Kendrick Perkins

CLEVELAND– The Cavaliers have waived veteran big man Kendrick Perkins, the team announced via press release on Tuesday.

Perkins saw the court in one game this past season with the Cavs, signing just prior to the final game of the regular season against the Knicks. He played 15 minutes in that game, but saw no playoff time. He was brought on to serve as a locker room presence, and also appeared in 27 games for the Canton Charge.

The Cavaliers picked up Perkins’ $2.5 million non-guaranteed option earlier in the summer, with the hopes that he may be used in a trade.
