Former Browns Quarterback Josh McCown Announces His Retirement After 17 NFL Seasons

Former Cleveland Browns quarterback Josh McCown has called it a career, announcing Monday that he was retiring after 17 seasons in the NFL.

McCown made the announcement himself in a post on The Players’ Tribune. He played two seasons for the Browns in 2015 and 2016, starting 11 games in the two seasons.

In 2015 he went 1-7 as a starter, throwing 12 touchdowns to just four picks with a QB rating of 50.3 The next season he went 0-3 as a starter, throwing six touchdowns and six picks.

His lone win was a memorable one, as on October 11th of 2015 he threw for 457 and two scores in completing 36-of-51 passes in a 33-30 overtime win over the Baltimore Ravens on the road.
