As the 2020 offseason was unwinding, it became clear that safety was going to become a major position of need for the Cleveland Browns, especially during the 2020 NFL Draft. Cleveland decided to make their move early, selecting Grant Delpit in the second round.
Delpit brings excitement to the Browns secondary because after his 2018 campaign, it was widely believed he would have been a top-15 pick in the draft. However, after a mediocre 2019 season, Delpit fell into the second round, which the Browns were more than happy to take advantage of.
Suffering from a high ankle sprain for most of the season, Delpit was not making the same type of plays he was in 2018.
