Last season, the Cleveland Browns passing game had its share of problems, and while then-head coach Freddie Kitchens didn’t help, Baker Mayfield wasn’t sharp. The offensive line play at the tackle spots, in particular, didn’t aid Mayfield, either, but it is still evident that 2020 is a “pivotal year” for Mayfield, as Pro Football Focus’ Steve Palazzolo stressed in a recent piece.
Mayfield threw the second-most interceptions in the league last season with 21, and only Josh Allen of the Buffalo Bills had a lower completion percentage among qualifying quarterbacks.
Albeit what was much more of a positive from 2019 for the Browns was obviously the play of Nick Chubb.
