With the departure of backup quarterback Chase Brice Taisun Phommachanh has an opportunity to take a step up on the depth chart, and he’s hoping a year of preparation has him ready to take that next step.
Phommachanh played 43 snaps over three games while redshirting in 2019, completing 6-of-12 passes for 85 yards and rushing for 56 yards on 12 carries. He rushed five times for 21 yards in his collegiate debut against Georgia Tech, completed 5-of-9 passes for 52 yards and rushed twice for 19 yards against Charlotte, and completed a four-yard pass and rushed five times for 16 yards in the win over Florida State.
