There is a little under one month until Cincinnati Reds pitchers and catchers will report to the club’s complex in Goodyear, Arizona, for the start of spring training.
The Reds are the most improved team in the National League Central after signing second baseman Mike Moustakas, outfielder Shogo Akiyama and left-handed starter Wade Miley. Following a 75-87 season, they needed to make up ground to enter the mix with the St. Louis Cardinals, Milwaukee Brewers and Chicago Cubs.
If the Reds want to be considered the favorites in the division, there is more to be done. The Reds have some financial flexibility and they upgraded the roster without trading any prospects.
