Sonny Gray’s scoreless streak was over and now he was fighting to keep his team in the game.

With two outs in the sixth inning, Gray surrendered a solo home run to San Diego Padres outfielder Josh Naylor, the first run he allowed this month. Manny Machado dropped a single into center, which fell in no-man’s land between four fielders. Gray walked the next two batters to load the bases.

After dominating all evening, it was up to Gray to keep the game from unraveling. Gray threw two pitches outside the strike zone before Manuel Margot lined out to center field to end the inning.
