The Cincinnati Reds have announced that they have placed left-handed pitcher Wade Miley on the injured list retroactively to Wednesday with a neck strain. Taking his place on the roster for now will be left-handed reliever Cionel Pérez.
It’s been a tough stretch for Wade Miley of late. In September his ERA is 8.35 and he’s managed to throw just 18.1 innings in four starts. He’s given up 36 hits – seven of which have been home runs – during that stretch while opposing hitters have a .429/.449/.738 line against him. That’s ballooned his ERA on the season up to 3.
