Lack of offense continues to hurt the Cincinnati Reds as they fight to stay in playoff mix

DENVER – When the Reds slumped throughout the first month of the season, they were confident their offense would improve. They have a talented lineup. Their offense carried them last season with many of the same hitters.

The Reds have shown flashes of their offensive potential, but they’ve cratered in the past month. They were tied for last in the National League in runs (92) during June. They’ve averaged 3.6 runs in their last 31 games, well below the MLB average (4.8 runs) this season.
