Joey Votto said something you don’t expect from a player on a team that is in the postseason.
“I don’t even feel like we’ve played our best ball yet,” he said. “I feel like all season long, there’s been moments, but I think the starting pitching carried us for most of the season. I think we got some really good performances from, obviously, Michael Lorenzen helped us later in the year. From the offensive side of things and defensively, I feel like we’ve just been okay at best.”
