Eugenio Suárez crossed home plate and he couldn’t stop smiling. It was a career night for a guy who already has a lot of highlights in his career.
Suárez hit his third home run of the night over the right-field wall in the eighth inning and smiled as he did a celebratory handshake with Mike Moustakas. He laughed toward the dugout and shrugged. After he walked through the high-five line in the dugout, he looked at a TV camera, blew a kiss, made a heart with his hands and held up three fingers.
It was Suárez’s first three-homer game and the Reds rolled to a 6-2 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Saturday at PNC Park.
