After the Cincinnati Reds finished the 2019 season with a 75-87 record, their top priority in the offseason was improving their offense.

The lineup looks much stronger Monday after outfielder Nicholas Castellanos, the top hitter remaining on the free-agent market, agreed to join the Reds, a source with knowledge of the deal told The Enquirer.

Castellanos, who will turn 28 in March, had a .289 batting average and .337 on-base percentage in 151 games with the Detroit Tigers and Chicago Cubs last season. He led the league with 58 doubles, adding 27 homers, 73 RBI and 100 runs.
