Cincinnati Reds seeking offensive upgrades in offseason after inconsistent year

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – When the Reds entered the offseason last year, their big focus was improving their starting pitching and they netted three starters through trades: Tanner Roark, Alex Wood and Sonny Gray.

As all 30 teams meet at the General Managers Meetings at the Omni Resort in Scottsdale, Arizona, the Reds aren’t hiding the fact that they need to improve their offense. They have flexibility for where newly-acquired hitters could play in the field, but the 2019 season was a step back offensively.
