Cincinnati Reds: Five pitchers to pursue following Zack Wheeler’s deal

Zack Wheeler was rumored to be heavily pursued by several teams, including the Cincinnati Reds. In the end, Wheeler reportedly signed a five-year/$118M contract with Philadelphia Phillies. While Cincinnati didn’t land the talented right-handed pitcher, there seems to be a desire among the Reds front office to add another starter. Who else on the free agent market might land in Cincinnati?

The Reds surfaced as a true contender for Wheeler’s services, despite the fact that Cincinnati’s starting rotation is already the strength of the team. Luis Castillo, Trevor Bauer, Anthony DeSclafani, and Sonny Gray all figure to be part of next year’s rotation.
