Marvin Lewis named Arizona State Sun Devils' co-defensive coordinator

Former Cincinnati Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis was named a co-defensive coordinator of the Arizona State Sun Devils on Tuesday, along with former NFL linebacker Antonio Pierce. Lewis spent last season as a special advisor to Arizona State head coach Herm Edwards.

Lewis reportedly was considered by the Washington Redskins and the Dallas Cowboys as a candidate to return to the NFL as a head coach, before the Redskins hired Ron Rivera and the Cowboys chose Mike McCarthy. Reports by SiriusXM NFL Radio host Alex Marvez and NFL Network's Mike Garafolo suggested that Lewis indicated to teams that Hue Jackson would be his offensive coordinator if Lewis was hired as a head coach.
