Surrounded by at least 200 reporters from around the country, Joe Burrow sat down at the podium and slammed the door shut on a manufactured national narrative.
“Yeah,” Burrow answered if he would happily play for the Cincinnati Bengals. “I’m not going to not play. I’m a ballplayer. Whoever takes me, I’m going to go show up.”
Over the last several weeks there’s been fake news about Burrow spurning the Bengals at the top of the draft, similar to what Eli Manning did to the then-San Diego Chargers in the 2004 NFL Draft.
