Dre Kirkpatrick, former Bengals cornerback, signs with Arizona Cardinals

Former Cincinnati Bengals defensive back Dre Kirkpatrick signed a one-year deal with the Arizona Cardinals, the team announced Sunday.

The Bengals released Kirkpatrick, their first-round pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, in late March. The Enquirer's Tyler Dragon wrote that terminating Kirkpatrick's contract gave the Bengals $8.2 million in salary cap relief.

Cardinals defensive coordinator Vance Joseph was the Bengals' defensive backs coach in 2014 and 2015 - when Kirkpatrick was a starting cornerback for the team.

Kirkpatrick had 10 interceptions in his eight seasons with the Bengals, including two returned for touchdowns and one in 2017 returned 101 yards - the longest in NFL history to not result in a touchdown, per Elias Sports Bureau.
