Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor remembers one of the first times that the team tried to take a shot down the field during his tenure as a head coach. In 2019, Taylor thought the Bengals had an opportunity to throw an 80-yard touchdown, and he called a play with that as the goal.
He didn’t account for former Pittsburgh Steelers slot cornerback Mike Hilton blitzing the quarterback. Hilton’s pressure took away the Bengals chance to score. In 2019 and 2020, Hilton had a unique ability to disrupt plays when he faced the Bengals.
