The rookie wideout cleared waivers Friday and was signed to the Bengals practice squad.
The club waived Tate on Thursday to clear a roster spot for cornerback KeiVarae Russell.
Tate became a fan favorite after the Bengals selected him in the seventh round of the NFL draft. He had a strong offseason and preseason showing and caught a game-winning touchdown pass against Tampa Bay in the preseason.
